EXCITING NEWS FOR GAHA AND GREENWAY HOCKEY......

Many of our players are going to camps all over Minnesota and are receiving some unique training in their dryland training - it's called Hockey Specific Core Strength, Flexibility, Balance and Yoga. Almost all NHL players have a regiment of Yoga and core strength in their workouts either daily or multiple times a week. For many High School programs it is too expensive or there is no one to do it. Greenway has it now!!!

Through GAHA and the Hockey Boosters we have the opportunity to have someone travel up to work with our players to develop the core strength, balance and flexibility they need to take the program to the next level. Amy Kenow of Sunlife Yoga out of Brainerd will be coming to Coleraine once a week from Sept- start of season and twice a week through the season. This dryland Core Strength training WILL be part of the Varisty and JV dryland training throughout the year.

GAHA players will have the chance to get Squirts- Bantams to do this training also. For GAHA players the cost is $40.00 for the whole year. Right now it looks like 33 classes at an hour a time or $1.21 a class. There is a one time $40.00 fee for the whole year. This is open to all Squirts- Bantams.

It is an opportunity for our players to get training that NO ONE on the Range or the state is getting at any level unless you pay for private lessons. I know the Edina varsity basketball team is strongly encouraged to go twice a week to CORE POWER in the cities and pay $10 each time out of their own pocket for this exact thing.

The classes will start before registration so if you would like or are having your player participate you can write the check then.

Stay tuned for more information.  Keep an eye on GAHA's Facebook page and the website for all information. Any questions feel free to contact myself Andy Gray (president@gahamn.org) or Jason Mallum (vp@gahmn.org). This is an opportunity for us to lead the way and get our players the advantage and strength they need going forward in their hockey careers..
