Policies

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Players of GAHA,

The safety of our hockey players is paramount to GAHA.  Because of this, GAHA has adopted the USA Hockey SafeSport program.

GAHA and USA Hockey are committed to creating a safe and positive environment for its participants' physical, emotional, and social development by promoting an environment free from abuse and misconduct.  The policies within the SafeSport program are intended to reduce, monitor, and govern areas where potential abuse might occur, and to set boundries for appropriate and inappropriate conduct.

As a USA Hockey member, GAHA is proud to comply with the USA Hockey sponsored SafeSport Program.  The safety of ourparticipants is of paramount importance to GAHA.  This includes not only on-ice safety, but also off-ice safety in any part of USA Hockey’s programs.

We invite you to become familiar with the SafeSport information posted below.

Although you are not required to do so as a parent/guardian, we encourage you to participate in the 90-minute training video (SafeSport Training).  It is very informative and you can be rest assured that all association administrators, including the Board of Directors, coaches, team managers and volunteers having one on one contact with GAHA players are required to participate and pass the SafeSport training.

You can access the SafeSport training video by clicking here.

Please do not hesitate to contact any one of GAHA's Board of Directors if you have questions and or concerns.

SafeSport Policies & Procedures

GAHA and USA Hockey are committed to creating a safe and positive environment for its participants' physical, emotional, and social development by promoting an environment free from abuse and misconduct.  These policies are intended to reduce, monitor, and govern areas where potential abuse might occur, and to set boundries for appropriate and inappropriate conduct.

It is the policy of GAHA and USA Hockey that there will be no sexual, physical, or emotional abuse of any minor involved in any of its programs, whether by a GAHA coach or volunteer, other adults, or by another minor participant.  It is also recognized that these abuses can also occur between adults or to an adult and are equally covered under these policies.
